Bambam (Adopted)Chestnut Quarter Horse or QH Cross Gelding

    Name:   Bambam
Breed and Color:   Chestnut Quarter Horse or QH Cross
    Age:   16
    Height:   14.2 hh
    Gender:   Gelding

The color of a hunk of milk chocolate and just as sweet, Bambam is a stocky, easygoing horse looking for his forever home! This do-anything, eager-to-please country boy came into rescue in 2021 with his friend, Pebbles. However, after arriving at Believe, he quickly fell in love with another chestnut rescue named Gertie. The cutest of couples, Bambam won her heart and has also been winning the hearts of everyone he meets! He is a nicely broke horse and a star in our equine therapy classes, too. Our trainer has found that Bambam has wonderful ground manners, knows how to yield to leg pressure, can neck rein and direct rein (though he prefers neck), and loves the trails. Thick-built and on the shorter side, Bambam is strong, athletic, and would love a regular job in the arena or trails and would even enjoy competitive trail riding! Happy to work and train, Bambam is currently improving on his forward motion, steering, and working on being less heavy in the hands. More responsive with a bit than without, a Myler bit with a roller has been helping to give his playful mouth something to do while he works. Though not quite bomb-proof, Bambam tends to stop or shy away from scary stuff more than spook, making him a solid partner to work with.

During his leisure time, Bambam hangs out with a mixed herd of mares and geldings. He sits in the lower end of the middle ranks and seems to be a pretty likable guy for all who meet him. A breezy personality helps him get on well with the vet and farrier, making him an all-around easy guy to work with. Bambam also ties well and is very food motivated, but the treats should stay in check to prevent too much junk from ending up in his already thick trunk!

Bamboo is up-to-date on vaccines, worming, teeth float, farrier, and vetting.

Recommended Rider:  Suitable for an Intermediate rider, Bambam is a super broke boy with a bouncy, happy trot. He loves working and doesn’t mind riding with different people, so he could be suited for a family with confident young riders. He also adores people and is a favorite at our equine therapy events, so a side-job in therapy work could be in his future!

Adoption Requirements:   The love of Bambam’s life is a pretty riding mare named Gertie. Because of their bond, we would love to see them adopted together.

Ailments/Limitations:  Adding to his cuteness, Bambam is a little pigeon-toed in the front but has good, barefoot feet. His turn-in is how he was born and has no impact on his gaits, so this healthy boy has no problems!
