HarrySorrel Quarter Horse

Breed and Color:   Sorrel Quarter Horse
    Age:   20
    Height:   15.1 hh
    Gender:   Gelding

We are happy to introduce you to Harry, a thick chunk of caramel sweetness! Though we don’t play favorites, this guy may or may not get a few more scratches than our other sweeties… He’s just so cute, so easygoing, and so darn friendly. When he flashes his sweet, gentle brown eyes at you, there’s no way you can walk by without giving him a little bit of love. And it doesn’t help that Harry is always fishing for attention! His greatest passion in life is to be groomed, cuddled, and hand-fed treats like a Greek god. In fact, he is built a bit like a god; stocky and powerful, heavily muscled with a refined and pretty face worthy of being carved into stone. You can see why this boy has us wrapped around his perfectly-proportioned hoof!

Since his rescue from auction, Harry has been exposed to a variety of visitors and even seems to enjoy the company of kiddos. Our team has worked just a bit with Harry, and quickly discovered that his hind legs are an issue for him. His conformation and his previous injuries lead us to believe that he may have been a performance horse or personal horse at some point, and the work caused some damage to his tendons. Because of this, he is retired from riding work but is regularly handled by his friends and fans.

Harry is currently hanging out with his best friend, Hank in an outdoor paddock with a shelter. He is barefoot and a relatively easy keeper, but still gets grain morning and night. As you’d expect from this handsome honey, he is sweet as can be with the vet and the farrier.

Harry is up-to-date on vaccines, worming, teeth float, farrier, and vetting.

Recommended Rider: Due to previous injuries, Hank is a companion-only horse that cannot be ridden. His quiet, gentle demeanor means that he can be handled by a wide range of experience levels, though, making him a dream candidate for therapy work.

Adoption Requirements: Harry is best friends with Hank, a leggy Thoroughbred cross. These two boys bonded during their time at auction and need to find a home where they can trot off happily into the sunset together.

Ailments/Limitations: Sweet Harry suffered severe injuries to the tendons in his hind legs, possibly during work as a performance or personal horse. Because of this, he is unable to be ridden and he requires daily Equioxx to help control his pain.

HARRY IS STILL CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TRAINING AND EVALUATION AT BELIEVE RANCH & RESCUE AND IS NOT CURRENTLY UP FOR ADOPTION. HOWEVER, HE WILL BE AVAILABLE AND LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME SOON!
