If you are a Harry Potter fan, look no further – we have found your Golden Snitch! Willow is a petite, glistening gold palomino with a 24-karat personality to boot. Even when she is covered in dirt, hay, and who knows what else, she is still the shiniest horse on the Ranch. It just has to be some kind of magic! Willow’s rescue story is also sprinkled with magic, though the tale unfortunately isn’t without heartbreak and worry. This sweet mare and her sick, four-day-old foal were abandoned at auction to fend for themselves. Our team sprung into action with the hopes of saving them from a terrible fate but were sidelined by a wildfire threatening the Ranch. However, the first dusting of magic came through when the amazing, tireless team of women who work to rescue and rehome horses at auction each week, stepped in to assist with the rescue. Willow and her baby, later named Waffles, were whisked off to safety and emergency medical care. Though protective and the perfect mum, Willow stood patiently by as she and her baby were poked and prodded by the best medical professionals in the area for months. The prognosis for baby Waffles was extremely bleak and our team was told to prepare for the worst. However, magic again prevailed and Waffles began to recover. Now, half a year later, Willow and Waffles are both healthy, happy, and full of life. And despite all of the chaos and drama, Willow never wavered from her gentle, easygoing, and trusting personality. So, is little Willow’s story full of magic or just a straight-up miracle? We’ll let you decide!

As a mom with a little one, Willow has been on “maternity leave” for the majority of her time at the Ranch. Our trainer is just starting up some groundwork with her, though, and she is working on learning those cues, sensitizing, and desensitizing. Though groundwork seems a bit new to her, we are told that she is a stellar riding horse and we look forward to hopping on for a ride once she is back in shape!

Willow has mixed in with other horses a few times but is mostly kept snug and safe in her own stall with an outdoor run. She is friendly, remarkably patient, and sweeter than honey. We are looking forward to getting to know her more as an individual once little Waffles is fully weaned and on his own.

Willow is up-to-date on vaccines, worming, teeth float, farrier, and vetting.

Recommended Rider:  This beautiful girl is rumored to be an amazing, kid-broke riding horse. However, she hasn’t been ridden yet at Believe since she has been busy taking care of her baby boy, Waffles! Now that he is getting older, though, we look forward to working with Willow further on the ground and under saddle to complete her full evaluation soon. Stay tuned for updates!

Adoption Requirements:   Willow came into rescue in April 2022 with her four-day-old foal, Waffles. Because he is still currently nursing, Willow and her spunky son need to be adopted together.

Ailments/Limitations:  Willow is still in “mom mode” and hasn’t been able to have a full training evaluation yet. However, she looks to be a healthy gal and currently has no health issues or restrictions! She is a bit out of shape from being on maternity leave, though, and will need a slow reintroduction to work and riding.

WILLOW IS STILL CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TRAINING AND EVALUATION AT BELIEVE RANCH & RESCUE AND IS NOT CURRENTLY UP FOR ADOPTION. HOWEVER, SHE WILL BE AVAILABLE AND LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME SOON!
