RorySorrel Quarter Horse or QH Cross Gelding

    Name:   Rory
Breed and Color:   Sorrel Quarter Horse or QH Cross
    Age:   15
    Height:   15.2 hh
    Gender:   Gelding

With an Irish name meaning “red king,” Rory is already working hard to live up to his new moniker. His shiny, ruby coat and hair easily cover the former portion. And his high head carriage, flashy gaits, and showy attitude definitely give him a royal air! Though he fancies himself a prince, Rory found himself looking for a new home at auction earlier this year. He was scooped up by Believe along with his two fellow “R” geldings and is on his way to finding his new kingdom. Our team has already been investigating his background and found that Rory, recent rescue Rooster, and former rescue Jax are likely all from the same dude ranch in Wyoming. In our initial work with Rory, this background would make sense as he isn’t very familiar with groundwork but is broke to ride. We haven’t hopped on for a many rides quite yet, so we are still learning about how he is under saddle. But this little show-off is already learning quickly and also doing great with his desensitization work. He is still a little sensitive and quite alert but hasn’t revealed himself to be spooky. Our trainer is excited to continue with his evaluation and is already thinking he’ll end up near the top of her favorites list!

When he isn’t showing off in the round pen, friendly Rory resides in a large paddock with stall access and a covered shelter. He’s bunking with the other two “R” geldings and is currently at the top of the hierarchy. However, it’s hard to tell if this baby-faced boy is the honorary king of his herd because it was earned or because his senior roommates are too laid back to care. We are still getting to know the group but we anticipate that Rory would maybe drop to a lower tier in a different herd. He tends to be very attentive to mares, so he will likely do best with a group of all geldings. Rory has been a good boy for the farrier and has nice, barefoot feet.

Rory is up-to-date on vaccines, worming, teeth float, farrier, and vetting.

Recommended Rider:  This spunky boy is a former ranch horse and is broke to ride. However, he hasn’t been ridden much yet at Believe since he is still new to rescue. We look forward working with him further on the ground and under saddle to complete his full evaluation soon. Stay tuned for updates!

Adoption Requirements:   Rory was recently rescued with two other geldings, seniors Rooster and Reece. We are still getting to know the group and are excited to observe their personalities and interactions!

Ailments/Limitations:  Rory is new to the rescue and is still in evaluation. However, he looks to be a healthy boy and currently has no health issues or restrictions!

RORY IS STILL CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TRAINING AND EVALUATION AT BELIEVE RANCH & RESCUE AND IS NOT CURRENTLY UP FOR ADOPTION. HOWEVER, HE WILL BE AVAILABLE AND LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME SOON!
