HenryChestnut Quarter Horse or QH Cross Gelding

    Name:   Henry
Breed and Color:   Chestnut Quarter Horse or QH Cross
    Age:   17
    Height:   14.3 hh
    Gender:   Gelding

If you’re searching for an easy-riding, reliable, and low-maintenance trail partner, your mission is now complete. Henry is your boy! He loves the trails and is happy to go out alone or with others in a group. This guy knows his job, doesn’t need regular riding to keep his saddle manners fresh, and is one of the most “get on and go” horses we’ve had come through the ranch. Henry has experience as a lesson horse, has been ridden in both western and English, and knows how to neck rein or direct rein with a snaffle. However, repetitive arena riding isn’t at the center of this country boy’s heart and he would be much happier with more of a mix of work. He is eager to please, though, and won’t complain if his workload skews that way for a bit. Henry is also a bit of an introvert and prefers to have a few close buddies over a lot of casual friends, so we wouldn’t recommend lesson life for him again. He could make a great family horse with good young riders, though, as he isn’t spooky, has no buck or bolt, and is confident. There is a smidge of go to him, but that is mostly because he loves to trot!

Henry has been easy to house at Believe and he is currently hanging out with a small mixed herd. He’s the lowest rank in that group and seems to get along well with most horses. He is fine with the vet and farrier and has good, barefoot feet. Henry is also cool with the hustle and bustle on the property and pays little attention to equipment and dogs.

Henry is up-to-date on vaccines, worming, teeth float, farrier, and vetting.

Recommended Rider:  Suitable for an Intermediate or advanced Beginner. Henry was used as a lesson horse previously but does have a smidge of “go” to him, so he needs a rider who is comfortable letting him know who decides the pace. But he is a safe and well-behaved boy who isn’t interested in doing anything to harm his riding partner!

Adoption Requirements:   None. Henry is a nice guy and plays well with the other horses in his herd. However, he is a pretty independent boy and is therefore happy to be adopted out alone.

Ailments/Limitations:  Henry was born with a crooked front leg that adds cute character to his build. It doesn’t affect his mobility, is structurally sound, and doesn’t cause him any discomfort. He is a fit and healthy boy and a solid riding partner!

HENRY IS STILL CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TRAINING AND EVALUATION AT BELIEVE RANCH & RESCUE AND IS NOT CURRENTLY UP FOR ADOPTION. HOWEVER, HE WILL BE AVAILABLE AND LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME SOON!
